Clinical Medical Assistant

Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier.  In today’s busy medical practices, Clinical Medical Assistants are vital members of the medical team. In this course, students will learn to assist the physician in providing quality patient care.  Students will learn to obtain patient vital signs, assist with minor medical procedures, perform simple laboratory tests, give injections, perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), administer medications and more. This 300-hour program includes Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national certification exam (through National Healthcareer Association) and CPR certification are included in tuition and a 160-hour externship where students will be placed in a private practice, clinic or urgent care facility.

Pharmacy Technician – California

Train to become a pharmacy technician in as little as 7 months!  In this 280-hour program, you will learn what it takes to become a successful pharmacy technician.  Program includes a 120-hour externship where you will receive hands-on training in a pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist.  Students are prepared to sit for PTCE and ExCPT national certification exams.  This program fulfills the education requirements of the California Board of Pharmacy (Business and Professions Code Section 4202) for pharmacy technician licensure.

Pharmacy Technician – Georgia

Become a Pharmacy Technician in as little as 12 weeks!  Train to assist the pharmacist in preparing and mixing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, purchasing and inventory management, billing and reimbursement, and more. Topics covered include: pharmacology for technicians, pharmacy law and regulations, sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality assurance, and medication safety. GHC’s pharmacy technician program includes a 40-hour externship, where the student will receive hands-on training in a local pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist. Program includes Georgia registration, background check, drug screen, and NHA ExCPT exam. Textbook purchased separately.

Phlebotomy Technician

Train to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in as little as 3 months!  As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or public health setting, producing quality results while gaining the trust and confidence of your patients. Topics covered include anatomy of the circulator system, medical terminology, quality assurance, HIPAA, and infection control. Receive hands-on training in venipuncture, capillary draws, heel sticks, and non-blood specimens. Program includes 40-hour externship in a local clinical laboratory, CPR certification, and NHA certification exam. Textbook purchased separately.

Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant program combines 35-hours of classroom training with a 24-hour volunteer experience.  Veterinary Assistants are valued team members in veterinary practices, clinics, and hospitals.  They work with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide quality care for healthy, sick, and injured animals.  In this program, students will receive hands-on training on the correct handling and care of pets, learn proper examination procedures, and discover how to check for signs of illness and injury.  Additional topics covered include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and veterinary acronyms, nutrition, legal, ethical, and professional standards, and maintenance and management of a veterinary practice.  With more than 85 million households owning at least one pet, the veterinary field is a growing field!
