Clinical Medical Assistant

Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier.  In today’s busy medical practices, Clinical Medical Assistants are vital members of the medical team. In this course, students will learn to assist the physician in providing quality patient care.  Students will learn to obtain patient vital signs, assist with minor medical procedures, perform simple laboratory tests, give injections, perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), administer medications and more. This 300-hour program includes Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national certification exam (through National Healthcareer Association) and CPR certification are included in tuition and a 160-hour externship where students will be placed in a private practice, clinic or urgent care facility.

Pharmacy Technician – California

Train to become a pharmacy technician in as little as 7 months!  In this 280-hour program, you will learn what it takes to become a successful pharmacy technician.  Program includes a 120-hour externship where you will receive hands-on training in a pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist.  Students are prepared to sit for PTCE and ExCPT national certification exams.  This program fulfills the education requirements of the California Board of Pharmacy (Business and Professions Code Section 4202) for pharmacy technician licensure.

Pharmacy Technician – Georgia

Become a Certified Pharmacy Technician in as little as 8 weeks! Pharmacies in Georgia are looking for Certified Pharmacy Technicians! This is due to the law allowing the pharmacist to supervise up to three technicians providing one of the technicians is certified (O.C.G.A. §26-4-82(d)). This comprehensive 8-week program prepares you for the ExCPT exam -one of two exams recognized by the GA Board of Pharmacy – and includes the cost of the ExCPT exam in tuition. In addition to exam preparation, the program includes practical hands-on training and covers the following topics: pharmacy laws and regulations, controlled substances, medication classifications, prescription and medication order intake and entry, preparing and dispensing prescriptions, pharmacy calculations, sterile and nonsterile products, medication safety and quality assurance. Program includes an optional 40-hour externship in a local pharmacy (additional cost).

Phlebotomy Technician

Train to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in as little as 3 months!  As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or public health setting, producing quality results while gaining the trust and confidence of your patients. Topics covered include anatomy of the circulator system, medical terminology, quality assurance, HIPAA, and infection control. Receive hands-on training in venipuncture, capillary draws, heel sticks, and non-blood specimens. Program includes 40-hour externship in a local clinical laboratory, CPR certification, and NHA certification exam. Textbook purchased separately.

Veterinary Assistant

With more than 85 million households owning at least one pet, the veterinary field is a growing field!  Veterinary Assistants are valued team members in veterinary practices, clinics, and hospitals.  They work with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide quality care for healthy, sick, and injured animals.  In this program, students will receive hands-on training on the correct handling and care of pets, learn proper examination procedures, and discover how to check for signs of illness and injury.  Additional topics covered include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and veterinary acronyms, nutrition, legal, ethical, and professional standards, and maintenance and management of a veterinary practice. 

Veterinary Assistant with Externship

In this program, students will receive hands-on training on the correct handling and care of pets, learn proper examination procedures, and discover how to check for signs of illness and injury.  Additional topics covered include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and acronyms, nutrition, legal, ethical, and professional standards, and maintenance and management of a veterinary practice.  In addition to the 75-classroom hours and 25-online hours, students will be placed in a local veterinary practice, clinic or animal hospital to complete a 40-hour externship.  This class is entry level and specifically NOT a Veterinary Technician class, which requires a two-year degree program. Textbook and scrubs purchased separately.
