Medical Administrative Assistant

Medical Administrative Assistants are key members of the healthcare team. In general, they are the patients’ first contact upon entering the medical office or clinic, and they play a valuable role in providing a positive experience for the patient. This fully online program is taught by a live-instructor, in real-time, in a virtual classroom using Zoom technology. Class time is engaging, and students are given opportunities to interact with their instructor and fellow students.

Clinical Medical Assistant

Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier.  In today’s busy medical practices, Clinical Medical Assistants are vital members of the medical team. In this course, students will learn to assist the physician in providing quality patient care.  Students will learn to obtain patient vital signs, assist with minor medical procedures, perform simple laboratory tests, give injections, perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), administer medications and more. This 300-hour program includes Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national certification exam (through National Healthcareer Association) and CPR certification are included in tuition and a 160-hour externship where students will be placed in a private practice, clinic or urgent care facility.

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Medical billing and coding specialist play a vital role in today’s healthcare industry.  Whether employed by a private practice, hospital, clinic, surgery center, or other setting, medical billers and coders use codes to document patient diagnoses and treatments. Their duties include reading and analyzing patient records, determining correct codes for patient records, using codes to bill insurance providers, keeping track of patient data, managing detailed, specifically coded information, and HIPAA compliance.

Pharmacy Technician – California

Train to become a pharmacy technician in as little as 7 months!  In this 280-hour program, you will learn what it takes to become a successful pharmacy technician.  Program includes a 120-hour externship where you will receive hands-on training in a pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist.  Students are prepared to sit for PTCE and ExCPT national certification exams.  This program fulfills the education requirements of the California Board of Pharmacy (Business and Professions Code Section 4202) for pharmacy technician licensure.

Phlebotomy Technician

Train to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician in as little as 3 months!  As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or public health setting, producing quality results while gaining the trust and confidence of your patients. Topics covered include anatomy of the circulator system, medical terminology, quality assurance, HIPAA, and infection control. Receive hands-on training in venipuncture, capillary draws, heel sticks, and non-blood specimens. Program includes 40-hour externship in a local clinical laboratory, CPR certification, and NHA certification exam. Textbook purchased separately.

Veterinary Assistant with Externship

In this program, students will receive hands-on training on the correct handling and care of pets, learn proper examination procedures, and discover how to check for signs of illness and injury.  Additional topics covered include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and acronyms, nutrition, legal, ethical, and professional standards, and maintenance and management of a veterinary practice.  In addition to the 75-classroom hours and 25-online hours, students will be placed in a local veterinary practice, clinic or animal hospital to complete a 40-hour externship.  This class is entry level and specifically NOT a Veterinary Technician class, which requires a two-year degree program. Textbook and scrubs purchased separately.
