Clinical Medical Assistant with Spanish Support

Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier.

In the Clinical Medical Assistant program, students receive practical, instructor-led training designed to prepare them for a rewarding career in today’s busy medical offices.

With the growing demand for bi-lingual Clinical Medical Assistants, this program is designed for students whose primary language is Spanish. It is recommended that students have completed or are currently enrolled in an ESL program and have achieved intermediate English proficiency.

The program will be taught primarily in English, and students will have opportunities to ask questions in Spanish with the instructor translating when clarification is needed.  While the textbooks are in English, chapter summaries and other print materials will be provided with Spanish/English translations.

The program includes a 160-hour externship, where students are placed in local private practices, clinics, or urgent care facilities to gain real-world clinical experience. By the time the student is placed in externship, it is expected that the student will be able to converse in both English and Spanish.

  • Obtain and record patient vital signs
  • Assist with minor medical procedures
  • Perform basic laboratory tests
